Thanks for reading my first blog post on studying abroad and using social media! My hope is that some of you are here because you are worried about staying connected back home while you are studying abroad. I am here just to give a few tips/ideas on the easiest and cheapest methods of staying connected. Why? Because I was right there where you are exactly a year ago. Until I studied abroad I rarely left my home state, let alone the United States. Being apart was very scary for me. However, social media and other communication technology made my anxiety disappear. It also saved me A LOT of money. Don't be one of those study abroad students with outrageous phone bills.
Many students who wish to study abroad are worried about the distance between themselves and their family and friends. This blog hopes to inspire students to pursue studying abroad regardless of the distance with the help communication technology. Facebook, twitter, apps, and skype make it possible to stay connected to friends and family all over the world over the internet!
About Me
My name is Elizabeth and I am a senior at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro studying international business. Last year I had the amazing opportunity to study abroad in Kyoto, Japan for half a year. My time abroad was an experience that I would never trade for the world!
